He was born on 27 September 1950 in Breda, the Netherlands, into a Polish-Dutch family. His father, Adam, was a Polish soldier who made his way to France and later served in General Maczek’s Division as a medic and a counterintelligence officer. His father took part, among other actions, in the liberation of the Dutch city of Breda, where he met his future wife and Edward’s mother. After the war, his father did not return to Poland and settled permanently in the Netherlands. Edward grew up in a mixed family, learning about Polish identity from his father. He completed theological studies and worked, among other roles, as a pastor, teacher, and educator. At the beginning of the 21st century, he moved to Poland, where he still lives today. He works as a trainer in peace education and civic education.
