Win Myint spent almost 7 years in Insein prison as a political prisoner. U Win Myint was seriously tortured during interrogation and he doesn’t have one eye since it has been removed due to the injury occured during torture. Win Myint was born in Insein, Yangon Region and his parents are U Kyaing and Daw San Yi. He studied until grade 8. Currently, he is a trishaw operator. He has one son and one daughter. U Win Myint was arrested when he was 18 for providing assistance to the talk show of GTI students and he stayed one year at Phaunggyi youth training school. After arranging for reorganization of NLD youth group, he was arrested by intelligence in the year 2000 and he was seriously tortured during interrogation. He was arrested and incarcerated due to his participation in Martyr’s day activities, distribution of General Aung San Photos, youth campaign and praying for the release of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
