  • Born on February 18, 1930, in Plzeň
  • Attended primary school at the teaching institute in Plzeň
  • 1946 - the first Scout camp on the River Střela
  • 1947 and 1948 - camping near the Pond of Myslív
  • 1949 – was prevented from studying at the Academy of Music
  • October 1949 - emigration to Germany and then Great Britain
  • 1962 - began working at the BBC
  • 1980-1990 - head of the Czechoslovak editorial board at the BBC
  • 1990 - retirement
  • Lives in London
