  • born on 26 June 1945 in Prague
  • his father was writer Vladimír Neff
  • studied journalism and started working in the Czechoslovak Radio
  • witnessed the occupation of Czechoslovak Radio building by the Warsaw Pact armies
  • was fired for political reasons and then worked as a photographer
  • by the late 1980s worked as an editor of the controversial magazine Kmen
  • after the Velvet Revolution worked for Mladá fronta DNES daily
  • one of the pioneers of Czech internet; founded and still runs the news portal Neviditelný pes
  • author of sci-fi literature
  • writes and teaches about digital photography
