Perhaps the name still means something to someone. My father owned an international transport company here before the War. I myself was born before Czechoslovakia existed, in Belgrade where my father served under the Austrian Kaiser, on 8th September 1918. In a couple of months I will be 85 years old. I’m surprised myself that I’ve been around for so long. I feel fine, so perhaps I’ll still be here for another couple of years. My father was there (In the Austro-Hungarian Army – ed.) as a transport officer. He even rose to the rank of colonel. My family – my mother, father, and brother – died in a concentration camp. I don’t know which one.”
